UMMC has invested 175 million rubles into a new production unit at its plant in the Kurgan region05.06.2014 — News KURGAN REGION A new production unit to update shunting locomotives has opened at the Shadrinsk Automotive Components Plant, OJSC (one of UMMC's engineering businesses). Eight-eight new jobs have been created, and a total of 175.3 million rubles has been invested. UMMC's press office told RusBusinessNews that a TEM2 locomotive owned by Kuzbassrazrezugol was the first to undergo the modernizing process. It was fitted with a Cummins QST30 - L2 (V12) diesel engine and an ITAG900-175 generator. These updates have improved the equipment: the engine's life has been extended to 30,000 service hours, fuel consumption has decreased by 30%, and less pollution is being released into the atmosphere. UMMC's general director, Andrei Kozitsin, explained that the company operates 140 shunting locomotives and these will be the first to be updated at SHAAZ. |
