Volvo Gives Highest Grade To Chusovskiy Metallurgical Plant01.06.2009 — News THE PERM KRAI. OAO Chusovskoy Metallurgic Plant is the first Russian company to earn the highest grade within the vendor audit conducted by Volvo. For the company that produces 80% of all Russian suspension springs this means an opportunity to bid in tenders run by the Sweden's automotive giant. In January 2009 Volvo launched the production of heavy-duty trucks in Kaluga. The plant's capacity is 10 thousand Volvo trucks and 5 thousand Renault trucks a year. Currently the plant gets the springs from one of the European vendors. The plant informed RusBusinessNews that they have presented the spring production technology and the quality control system to Volvo. The successful audit does not necessarily mean that the plant is automatically included in Volvo's suppliers' pool but presents new opportunities to the Chusovskoy Metallurgic Plant to compete in Volvo's tenders. |
