The Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation, OJSC, signs a 25 million euro contract with Cuba

UVZ-Logistic, a subsidiary of the Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation, OJSC, the GESIME, a Cuban ferrous metallurgy and machine-building group, and the Union of Cuban Railrways signed a contract to establish a transport and logistics company. The document was signed in Kazan at the 13^th meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Cuban Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.

This TLC will be established by the end of 2015. Located on the capacities of Planta Mecanica, a mechanical engineering plant, it will be engaged in repairs, service and assembly of freight cars for the needs of the Cuban railways. The Press Service of the Corporation has informed RusBusinessNews that the total investment package of the company with the participation of Russian banks and EXIAR will be at least 25 million euros.

Moreover, UVZ and Tradex, a Cuban company, agreed upon the parameters and specifications of freight rolling stock. Performance of the contract is scheduled for 2015-2016.
