VSMPO-AVISMA to provide Airbus with machined components for the landing gear

At the MAKS-2015 International Aviation Salon, Airbus and VSMPO-AVISMA showcased their first machined component that will be used in manufacturing of the landing gear for А350-900 airliners.

 

RusBusinessNews has been informed by the VSMPO Press Service that it is the biggest structural titanium component supplied by the Ural enterprise to Airbus

 

The companies also agreed upon cooperation in using titanium powder for 3D-printing in the aviation industry.

 

VSMPO-AVISMA is a major supplier of titanium to Airbus, satisfying about 50% of the company’s demand. At present, VSMPO-AVISMA supplies titanium forgings for all aircraft types manufactured by Airbus, including А320neo, А350 XWB and А380.
