On September 3, 2015 in Verkhnyaya Pyshma Alexey Kokorin, Governor of the Kurgan Region, and Andrey Kozitsyn, General Director of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC), signed a cooperation agreement. The parties intend to improve the competitiveness and investment attractiveness of the Shadrinsk Auto Aggregate Plant (a machine-building subsidiary of UMMC).

As RusBusinessNews has been informed by the UMMC Press Service, a year ago the Shadrinsk plant started upgrading shunting diesel locomotives, accounting for 20% of the total sales of the plant. Over one year, the plant upgraded 12 locomotives. In addition to new bodies and cabins, diesel-powered locomotives are equipped with new power and auxiliary units. Upgraded locomotives have modern microprocessor control, monitoring and fault detection systems. As a result, the engine services life has been substantially increased and fuel consumption has been reduced.
