VSMPO has purchased two milling machines from Italian Mecof

The Verkhnyaya Salda-based subsidiary of the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation has ordered two new milling machines with a moving column from Mecof, an Italian company.

As RusBusinessNews has been informed by the VSMPO-AVISMA Press Service, one machine will be used for machining large-size dies and molds up to 100 tons, while the other one will be used for dies of smaller sizes. In the experts’ opinion, precise dimensions of dies are crucial for the quality of sophisticated and high-value products – dies and molds – manufactured by the VSMPO-Avisma Corporation.

It should be mentioned that the first machine-tool of the Mecof family was bought by VSMPO in 2004. It showed itself to good advantage as a machine-tool with excellent performance characteristics. Today, the Mechanical and Die-Making Department has 28 metal-working machines, including milling, combined milling and boring machines, lathes, turning-and-boring lathes, planers and saws.
