SCO Summit Makes Shops Close in Ekaterinburg04.06.2009 — News THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST. Heavy trucks will be denied access to the Ekaterinburg city centre during the SCO summit, which is bound to complicate the work of the retail chains. The city shops will be in transport blockade for the whole week. From 10 to 17 June 2009 retailers will have to have the products delivered during the night time or accumulate sufficient stocks to last the whole week. Using lighter goods vehicles would increase the cost of perishable goods deliveries by 20-30%. Representatives of a number of retailers told RusBusinessNews that many suppliers would try to deliver the goods in the next few days. However, some supermarkets in the centre of Ekaterinburg are ready to stay close for the whole week. |
