SVERDLOVSK REGION
The VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation manufactures and supplies 100% of titanium for the MC-21-310 airliner. The scope of the project included manufacturing of forgings, profiles, slabs, rods, die-forgings and sheets made from titanium and aluminum alloys for components of outer wing panels, brackets, fuselage shell, under-fin compartment, doors, empennage, landing gear, pylons, and nacelles.
As RusBusinessNews has been informed by the corporation’s press center, VSMPO-AVISMA also supplies titanium semi-finished products designed for and compatible with aircraft parts and components: large-size die-forgings for disks and blades of aircraft engines, contour-composite rolled rings, rolled sheets and bars for new Russian engines PD-14 installed in the MC-21-310.
The MC-21 is a modern titanium-composite aircraft, where all the titanium-containing components, including engines, are made from Russian titanium from the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, as was pointed out by VSMPO-AVISMA Director General Sergey Stepanov.
