State-of-the-art copper electrolysis shop will be soon put into operation at KMEZ21.07.2021 — News
CHELYABINSK REGION
The Kyshtym Copper Electrolytic Plant – KMEZ (a member of Russian Copper Company Group) is revamping and upgrading its copper electrolysis shop. Phase 1 is scheduled for completion in Q2 2022. After Phase 2 is completed, the plant’s annual output will increase to 230 thousand tons of copper cathodes.
As RusBusinessNews has been informed by RCC’s Press Service, KMEZ is also setting up the copper foil production line in the electrolysis shop launched in 2020 and operating at the output of 1.2 thousand tons of foil a year. It is the only plant in Russia that produces double-sided, 9–105-micron thick foil in compliance with the IPC-4562 international standard.
The unmatched advantage of KMEZ foil is its high-purity chemical composition due to using the company’s own raw materials. The investment in the project amounted to more than 3 billion rubles.
