As many as 20 childcare facilities and schools are planned to be built or renovated in the Ural capital by 2024, mainly in the areas of the on-going residential development. The intentions of the municipal authorities are plotted on the map presented in the latest issue of the Vecherny Ekaterinburg newspaper, RusBusinessNews informs.

New schools will be built in almost all fast-growing neighborhoods: Shirokaya Rechka, Uralmash, Elmash, Pionersky, and Akademichesky. In the latter, the educational institution accommodating 1,100 students will open its doors in 2022.

Two large childcare facilities will be opened in Akademichesky. Another two daycare centers will be built in the Solnechny and Vtorchermet neighborhoods. The city administration plans to build new childcare centers in other districts, including VIZ, Yugo-Zapadny, Avtovokzal, Vtuzgorodok, and Izoplit.

"Together with the country, the Ural capital is heading to economic growth and further development. All our efforts are directed toward making life better for each resident of Ekaterinburg. So that we, our children, and grandchildren would live in a beautiful and comfortable city. The city we are proud of!" Ekaterinburg Mayor Alexey Orlov wrote in his column.

City Duma Deputy, General Director of Akademichesky Management Company Nikolai Smirnyagin uttered his approval of the school development map published in the Vecherny Ekaterinburg, saying that it clearly displayed plans for each neighborhood.

"These are very ambitious plans for school construction! There have never been such volumes before. As I see it, it is a minimum program capturing what is ready to be put into life. The situation with schools has improved significantly, though it does not mean that the city has reached its limits in this sector. The plans for schools and childcare facilities should be expanded. Everything marked on the map can be expanded quantitatively for the same period," the deputy said.

A total of 2,000 and 3,000 children will be enrolled in daycare centers and schools, respectively, in the Ural capital in 2021. These centers and schools include the renovated building of school No. 80 in Kalinina Street, the new building of school No. 167 in Frezerovschikov Street) and the daycare facility for 250 children in Zolotoy Boulevard.
