TULA REGION
The winners of the 2nd Competition "Teaching As a Vocation!" held in the Tula Region were awarded certificates for money payouts from the Empathy Charitable Foundation founded by Mikhail Shelkov. The certificates were handed over by Olga Gremyakova, Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the Tula Region, and by the Tula representative of the foundation, RusBusinessNews informs.
Olga Gremyakova conveyed a welcome message from Governor Alexey Dyumin:
"Work of the teacher has always been important. Your task is not only to impart knowledge, but also to cultivate love and pride for their country in children. It’s the second time we have held the competition that helps select and reward the best teachers in the region. I would like to express my gratitude to Mikhail Yevgenievich Shelkov for this initiative and for his support in its implementation."
"My congratulations to the winners! Today, you are receiving the well-earned reward and peer recognition. You have successfully overcome all the challenges of the selection process when the number of applications tripled and there were 11 contestants per prize. The projects you have created and submitted to the jury are unique. I am sure that if each teacher draws a comparison between themselves before and after the competition, they will see an obvious difference. We, co-organizers, can see this difference clearly: The positive trend leaves no doubt, showing that the competition should be held again next year," the Tula representative of Empathy read the congratulations message from Mikhail Shelkov.
The competition "Teaching As a Vocation!" was held from June to September. Around 600 teachers of the Tula Region demonstrated their achievements and effective teaching practices. Their work was assessed by education specialists and by invited federal experts.
This time, the prize money from Empathy – 11 million rubles – was split among 51 winners in 15 categories. The number of categories increased by four and the number of winners increased by 18 people. Depending on the category, the teachers will receive either a lump amount of 100,000 rubles or 20 thousand rubles paid out monthly within a year, as stated by the Press Service of the charitable foundation.
The complete list of winners is available via the link.
The first competition "Teaching As a Vocation!" took place in 2021 as part of the cooperation agreement between Mikhail Shelkov, the founder of the Empathy Foundation, a VSMPO-AVISMA shareholder, and Alexey Dyumin, the governor of the Tula Region. Applications for participation in 11 categories were received from 200 teachers shortlisted to 33 participants by the jury. The prize money was 8 million rubles, including taxes, the responsibility for which was taken by Empathy.
The winners continued their personal growth and communicated their experience extensively both at the municipal and regional level; they participated in joint projects with the regional Institute of Professional Retraining and Advanced Training. Two of them were appointed to the position of directors of educational institutions.
