VSMPO-Avisma Strengthens its Position in Space Industry22.06.2009 — News THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST. OAO VSMPO-Avisma Corporation will continue supplying its products to EADS-Astrium, a producer of navigational fuel systems for spacecraft. The companies signed a long-term contract during the Parisian air show at Le Bourget. VSMPO-Avisma supplies EADS-Astrium with titanium moulded parts that are applied in telecommunications satellites. Astrium is now a leading player in most spheres of space industry sectors - from land-based systems to satellites, carrier rockets, and orbital infrastructure. At the moment VSMPO-Avisma provides for 60% of EADS' demand for titanium. VSMO-Avisma press office told RusBusinessNews that representatives of the corporation held negotiations with their existing and prospective clients during the air show. In 2008, foreign buyers of titanium products accounted for the major part of VSMPO-Avisma's revenue. The revenue breakdown by client is as follows: Boeing - 15.3%, Uniti - 10.7%, Airbus - 8.7%, Goodrich - 5%, Snecma - 4.3%, Embraer - 3%, Rolls Royce - 2.2%, Messier Dowty - 2.1%. |
