VSMPO-AVISMA and the Perm Territory authorities will jointly develop an educational infrastructure

VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, PJSC and the Government of the Perm Territory signed an agreement on the development of education facilities at the International Industrial Trade Fair INNOPROM 2023. The world's largest titanium producer became the first company to take a fundamental step within the framework of a consortium concluded at the end of 2022 that united the region’s enterprises to build a new training and laboratory building for the Berezniki Polytechnic College and a dormitory for students. As RusBusinessNews has been informed by the corporation's press service, VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation will invest 100 million rubles in the project.

 

The new 500-seat building will house new classrooms, training workshops and laboratories, a sports and physical training block, a library and information center, an assembly hall, and a canteen. A dormitory for 400 beds will be built for non-resident students. Currently, there are two student dormitories in Berezniki with a total capacity of about 310 beds.

Dmitry Makhonin, Governor of the Perm Territory, emphasized the importance of involving enterprises in the implementation of socially significant infrastructure projects in the region. This is especially important for Berezniki, one of the industrial hubs where flagship enterprises in Russia's chemical industry are based. The new building for the college will address a number of issues, including shortage of technical and engineering professionals. Opportunities to receive quality education with further employment in the area are also expanding for young people in Prikamye.

 

"Together with business, we are moving towards not only developing the education sector in the Perm Territory, but also providing students with comfortable conditions during their studies. The agreement signed today will ensure the implementation of the roadmap in this direction," said Dmitry Makhonin.
