Second regional selection of candidates for the Clever and Wise TV Olympiad will take place in Sverdlovsk region

Tenth grade students in the Sverdlovsk region can apply for participation in the regional stage of the Clever and Wise TV Olympiad until November 26. This can be done on the website of the Golden Section Foundation (https://ereg.zsfond.ru).

 

In early December, schools of the Middle Urals will host a qualification phase that includes an essay writing and responses to questions concerning comprehensive knowledge. Those who have successfully completed the task will be invited to the final stage. It will be held in Ekaterinburg in April-May 2024 in a format based on the rules of the All-Russian Television Olympiad: with semi-final and final agons, insignias, agonists, and theorists. To better prepare for the in-person stage, the participants will be able to complete distance courses from the organizers free of charge.

The first regional selection in the history of the Clever and Wise TV Show was held in Ekaterinburg in the spring of 2023. Six Sverdlovsk region award-winning schoolchildren will go to Moscow in mid-November to represent the region in the new season of the TV show on Channel One and strive for victory in the All-Russian Olympiad.

 

The Clever and Wise TV Show has been on Channel One since 1992. The winners of the project obtain benefits in case of free admission to MGIMO. Regional qualifying rounds of the Olympiad are held in more than 20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

 

Organizers of the regional stage of the Olympiad in the Sverdlovsk region are the region's Ministry of Education and Youth Policy, Mikhail Shelkov's Empathy Charitable Foundation, and the Golden Section Foundation for the Support of Talented Children and Youth. The project is supported by the Ural Institute of Management — branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of the National Economy and Public Administration (UIU RANEPA), the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin, the Liberal Arts University (Ekaterinburg), the Ural State Pedagogical University, the Institute for Development of Education of the Sverdlovsk region, and Youth Palace Center for Supplementary Education of the Sverdlovsk region. Project launch in 2022 became an example of an effective collaboration between the regional education system and a private foundation.
