VSMPO-AVISMA to open a multifunctional sports center in Verkhnyaya Salda

VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation has acquired a large real estate property in Verkhnyaya Salda. The transaction has amounted to 100 million rubles.

 

The former "Magnet" supermarket building (at 1b Vostochnaya), with a total area of 3,200 square meters, is set to transform into a state-of-the-art multifunctional sports center in 2024. At a meeting with Dmitry Trifonov, General Director of VSMPO-AVISMA, activists from the Our Home – Verkhnyaya Salda movement announced their initiative to establish a new public space in the town.

 

"The establishment of the new sports center stands as a testament to our commitment to city infrastructure development projects, a vision supported by our shareholder, Mikhail Shelkov. This complex transcends being merely a hub for sports and leisure; it is a purposeful space meticulously crafted to unite the youth of Salda. Here we will hold sporting events, championships, festivals. This center marks a pioneering venture for Verkhnyaya Salda, poised to be a focal point for the growth and development of our promising youth," said Dmitry Trifonov

According to the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation's press office, the center is set to feature a state-of-the-art fitness facility catering to both children and adults. A designated area will be dedicated to a chess club, with walls that can be extended during large-scale events, seamlessly creating a unified and expansive space. The inaugural event, heralding the beginning of this new venture, will be the All-Russian Children's Chess Competition scheduled for March 2024. Responding to the numerous requests from young individuals, the complex is set to include a contemporary food court equipped with areas for relaxation and socializing – crafted specifically for the youth. The modernization of the space will unfold in phases throughout the year.

 

As a part of the project, there will be an online contest on the Our Home – Verkhnyaya Salda movement's website, inviting residents of both Verkhnyaya and Nizhnyaya Saldas to propose the best name for the sports center. 

 

"The necessity for an affordable center catering to the youth of Salda has been overdue for quite some time. Members of our movement, who also serve as deputies of the City Duma, frequently raised this issue during their interactions with constituents. Furthermore, initiatives like these align with the direction set by the President of the country, Vladimir Putin, who has consistently urged authorities and businesses to foster the development of physical culture and sports. In line with the President's perspective, the advancement of sports complexes is deemed crucial for the nation's health, enhanced life expectancy, professional sports achievements, and is acknowledged as an unequivocal priority and integral component of national development goals," emphasized Yulia Pecherskaya, head of the public movement Our Home – Verkhnyaya Salda.
