A young chess player from Verkhnyaya Salda becomes a winner of the Asian Chess Championships

His ambitious strategy and desire to play with the strongest titled players are respectable, and his results impress even experienced chessers. By his decision, in 2024, Aleksey Prokhorov will receive a monthly scholarship from the Empathy Foundation, established to support talented youth. The parents and coach of the young chess player received letters of appreciation and awards.

We started with chess literacy lessons for first-graders, the Debut chess club, and today we have reached a new qualitative level. Next year, in Verkhnyaya Salda, with the financial participation of the corporation and the Empathy Foundation, there will be a multifunctional sports center with a modern and spacious chess club, which will unite all lovers of this sport and become the center for holding town and all-Russian chess tournaments. In March 2024, Verkhnyaya Salda will host a stage of the Russian Chess Cup in the new club, with hundreds of participants from all over the country," said Dmitry Trifonov, CEO of VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation.
