Top-performing female students have been honored In Verkhnyaya Salda01.07.2024 — News SVERDLOVSK REGION Three schoolgirls from Verkhnyaya Salda have received 50 thousand ruble awards from the Empathy Foundation for their exceptional performance on the Unified State Exam. The award ceremony coincided with Youth Day and the 91st anniversary celebrations of VSMPO—a facility of the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation in the Sverdlovsk region. Mikhail Shelkov, the founder of the Empathy Foundation, is also a shareholder of VSMPO-AVISMA, reports RusBusinessNews. Irina Egorova from School No. 1 and Maria Ostrovskaya from School No. 2 each achieved perfect scores of 100 in Russian language, while Sofia Mosyakina from School No. 1 scored 100 in literature. The mayor and representatives of the foundation congratulated the high achievers. "A score of one hundred points reflects diligence, persistent hard work, and our young people's drive for success. It also indicates a commendable level of education and the excellent efforts of Salda's educators. I am grateful to the teachers and parents for their role in preparing and supporting these graduates. I wish these young women continued success and victories," stated Aleksandr Maslov, the head of the Verkhnyaya Salda urban district. Olga Viktorovna Balycheva and Natalia Valeryevna Glinkina, Russian language and literature teachers, who contributed to the girls' high achievements, were also acknowledged. "The graduates achieved truly impressive results, a testament to their teachers' dedication. Olga Viktorovna and Natalia Valeryevna will receive preferential consideration during the selection process for the Best Teachers of Verkhnyaya and Nizhnyaya Saldas program and will be eligible for increased monthly payments from Empathy of 15,000 rubles for the next year," noted the foundation's press service. In the 2023–2024 academic year, 102 eleventh graders in Verkhnyaya Salda took the Unified State Exam, with more than a third scoring above 80 points in one or more subjects. The average scores were 69 in Russian language and 71 in literature. Since 2020, Mikhail Shelkov's Empathy Charitable Foundation has been aiding talented youth in Verkhnyaya and Nizhnyaya Saldas by annually rewarding outstanding graduates, granting awards for academic and sports excellence, conducting an educational program in collaboration with the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and organizing a regional selection for the Clever and Wise TV Olympiad. Monthly payments and complimentary professional development courses are also offered to educators and teachers from the two towns. |
