Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Combine Continues Turkish Project Development

ОАО Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Combine is implementing yet another stage of the project with Atakas Group. The construction of a sheet metal rolling facility with an annual capacity of 2.3 million tons continueы in Iskenderun on the premises of MMK Atakaş A.Ş. joint venture.

As RusBusinessNews was informed by OAO Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Combine, metal structure assembly has almost been accomplished in the cold-rolling shop; mounting of polymer coating and hot zinc plating units is underway. Danieli (Italy) supplies key process equipment.

The launch of the non-stop hot zinc plating and polymer coating units with annual capacities of 450 thousand and 200 thousand tons, as well as the cold-rolling plant for semi-finished rolled stock unit supply, has been scheduled for 2010. The completion of the project will allow Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Combine to enhance its position on the Turkish market that lacks its own rolling capacities.
