Consulate General Azerbaijan Will Be Opened in Ekaterinburg26.06.2009 — News THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST. Almost five years of preparation for the opening of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan will be finished soon. As RusBusinessNews was informed in the Office of the President of the Republic, Ilham Aliyev has signed the decree on appointing Soltan Mohammed oglu Gasimov the Consul General. The negotiations between Governor Eduard Rossel and President Ilham Aliyev on opening the representative office started back in October 2004. At that time the leader of Azerbaijan declared that the RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs agreed for this move to be made. The diplomatic district of the Consulate will include 34 regions of the Urals and Siberia. The Azerbaijan Republic is only represented in Russia by the Embassy in Moscow and the Consulate General in St.Petersburg, whilst the trade turnover between the Sverdlovsk Oblast and Azerbaijan has increased from 5.7 million dollars in 2000 to 102.3 million dollars in 2008. |
