Germany's Homag Helps Ugra Build Houses06.07.2009 — News UGRA. Koda Les, a timber processing company, opened a prefab house plant in Khanty-Mansiysk. Using technologies of the German Homag Group the plant will make 300 kits of timber frame buildings annually. The Koda Les company has spent two years and 400 million roubles of investments on the project implementation. A similar plant of smaller capacity has been established by the company in the East Ugra in the city of Nefteyugansk. The company informed RusBusinessNews that the wall thickness of one- and two-storey cottages will withstand the harshest of Siberian frosts when the temperature drops below minus forty degrees. Traditional European projects were adapted to the climate conditions of Ugra. The cost of one square metre of the cottage varies depending on the options from 8 to 14 thousand roubles. In the future the cost may grow due to the increase of tariffs and the cost of timber but this kind of housing will still undoubtedly remain 3 to 4 times cheaper than flats in brick buildings. |
