Vietnam Will Buy Ural Offroad Trucks for its Army

The automobile plant Ural has entered an agreement on cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of Vietnam. The document has been signed in Nizhniy Tagil on 8 July within the framework of the 7th International Exhibition Russian Expo Arms-2009.

The Miass automobile plant will modernize several hundred of Ural-375 trucks shipped from the Soviet Union for the needs of the Vietnamese army. For instance the carburettor petrol engines will be replaced by the modern diesel units.

The plant informed RusBusinessNews that the Ministry of Defence will also purchase the new offroad trucks Ural-4230. It is also expected that a service centre of the Ural Automobile Plant will be opened in Vietnam.
