Schoolchildren Brought A/H1N1 Flu from London to the Urals22.07.2009 — News THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST. The A/H1N1 flue has been brought to the Sverdlovsk Oblast from the UK. Three schoolchildren coming back from the language camp were hospitalised on arrival to Ekaterinburg. Two boys and a girl of ages 12 to 14 were taken to hospital with the symptoms of the disease on the day of their arrival from London 20 July 2009. One of the teenagers developed fever while still on the plane but the tour group managers did not give it appropriate attention. The thermal surveillance device installed in the Ekaterinburg Koltsovo airport was not working on the day these schoolchildren arrived. Children were taken to hospital by the ambulance called by their parents. According to our sources the lab tests promptly performed in Ekaterinburg and Novosibirsk confirmed the diagnosis. The Healthcare Ministry of the Sverdlovsk Oblast informed RusBusinessNews that the condition of two teenagers is described as medium severity with high fever. Their lives are not in danger. The third hospitalised child does not have a fever. Another child is currently under constant medical observation for the А/H1N1 flu, this is a four year old brother of one of the teenagers who contracted the disease. |
