Tyumen Oblast Will Spend 450 Million Roubles on Purchasing Dairy Cattle from Europe22.07.2009 — News THE TYUMEN OBLAST. Around 4 thousand elite pedigree cows will be shipped to the Tyumen Oblast from Europe by the end of 2009. This is how the regional authorities are planning to increase the production of milk. Slovakia, Hungary, France, and Austria are among the cattle suppliers. 187 cows of the Holstein Friesian breed arrived in July from Slovakia. They are undergoing the required quarantine at the moment. The regional government informed RusBusinessNews that the shipments are made directly from European agrarians to Tyumen farms. 90% of the cost of the cattle purchased is paid out of the Tyumen Oblast budget. In 2009 this spending is estimated at 450 million roubles. |
