Italian Retailers Will Buy Siberian Forest Berries27.07.2009 — News THE TYUMEN OBLAST. Gathering of wild growing berries and mushrooms will begin in Tyumen Oblast in the middle of August. The experts are expecting a big harvest some of which will go abroad. Processing companies are planning to buy about 100 tons of mushrooms and the same quantity of berries, predominantly cowberry and cranberry. About 40% of the produce will be sold in the shops of the region. Several tons of berries and mushrooms will be shipped to the Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk Oblast. The Novy Vek (New Century) company informed RusBusinessNews that Italy seems as a market with a good future. In 2009 the Italians may buy 30 to 40 tons of Siberian berries for making juices and for retail sales. Moreover, companies from Lithuania and Latvia expressed interest in the riches of Siberian forests. They are planning to buy berries to be processed at their plants in the North-West of Russia. |
