Export Cargo Transportation Growing in Urals31.07.2009 — News The Sverdlovsk Railway has increased the transportation of cargo for export in July 2009. For instance, the volume of mineral fertilizers shipped from the Perm Krai to India and China has grown by 50%. According to preliminary data in January-July the Railway transported 57.7 million tons of cargo, 16-17% out of which was destined for export. Vladimir Suprun, the Director of the Sverdlovsk Railway, told RusBusinessNews that at the time of the world financial crisis the volume of shipments to Asian countries has grow in comparison to the volume of shipments to Europe. The share of export to Asia amounted to 60% before, and in the few recent months this figure has grown by 5-7%.
