Ekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport Suing Air Carriers06.08.2009 — News THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST. Debts of Russian air carriers to the Ekaterinburg Koltsovo airport exceeded 100 million roubles. A further 60 million is owed by the bankrupted airlines of the AirUnion alliance. The airport informed RusBusinessNews that the "black list" includes the state owned "Russia" carrier, Aeroflot-Nord, Aeroflot-Don, S7 (Siberia), UTair, KD-avia, and Zapolyarye. The payments from air carriers running services through Koltsovo are carried out very irregularly with gross breach of contractual obligations. The airport management decided to recover the debts through court. In June 2009 Koltsovo already levied, through court, the interest on the money owed to the airport the Zapolyarye carrier had the use of. The debtors have been told to make the overdue payments before the court hearing, but the majority of them are unlikely to mobilise the necessary resources. |
