OMIA Will Process Urals Marble07.08.2009 — News THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST. OMIA (Switzerland) will start the construction of a ground marble plant in the Sverdlovsk Oblast in September 2009. The new venture will produce calcium carbonate that is used in the chemicals and construction industries. The Regional Union of the Construction Industry Companies informed RusBusinessNews that OMIA acquired the Polevskoy marble deposit field in 2006. The annual capacity of the plant in Polevskoy will amount to about 300 thousand tons. Some of the product will be exported to European countries and Turkey. Maxit, a part of the French Saint-Gobain Group, is ready to come to this industrial site in the future. This company is going to build a dry construction mixes plant. |
