Lower Saxony Leaders Will Visit Tyumen Oblast10.08.2009 — News THE TYUMEN OBLAST. A delegation of the federal state of Lower Saxony (Germany) is coming to the Tyumen Oblast on 13 September 2009 for a three-day visit. The delegation will be headed by the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Economics, Labour and Transport of Lower Saxony Mr. Stefan Kapferer and the Consul General of Germany in Ekaterinburg Dr. Renate Schimkoreit. The regional government has informed RusBusinessNews that the guests will participate in the Russian-German Business Forum and conduct negotiations with the Tyumen Oblast leaders and local business people. The international economic relations between the Tyumen Oblast and the federal state of Lower Saxony have begun in 1992 after the signing of the Joint Declaration on Partnership Cooperation. The overall trade turnover between Germany and this subject of the Federation in 2008 amounted to 53.64 million U.S. dollars. About 20 businesses with the participation of German capital are registered in the Tyumen Oblast. For instance, KCA Deutag Drilling GmbH is involved in exploratory drilling; OJSC Engineering/Production Firm "Sibnefteavtomatika" produces technological process control and adjustment equipment; and Perfoline, a manufacturing venture, makes geological equipment components. |
