Finnair Doubled Number Of Passengers Flying From Ekaterinburg18.09.2009 — News THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST. In one year running the Helsinki-Ekaterinburg-Helsinki service Finnair has doubled the plane load. The Finnish carrier has managed to compete with the whole range of European airlines which started flying from the Urals capital much earlier. The Ekaterinburg Finnair office informed RusBusinessNews that in the autumn 2008 the number of seats sold amounted to 40-50%, now this figure reaches 80-90%. The constant monitoring of plane passenger loads and the programme of aircraft replacement accounting for the demand enable the company to manage its costs efficiently. The Embraer-170 craft flies on the Ekaterinburg-Helsinki line. There are three flights per week. Should the demand grow, Finnair will replace the plane by a larger plane of the same or a higher class. In experts' opinion Helsinki is a good point to change planes on the way to Scandinavian countries or the US. |
