Urals Plant Will Ship More Geodesic Instruments To Europe07.10.2009 — News THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST. FSUE (Federal State Unitary Enterprise) PA (Production Association) Urals Optical and Mechanical Plant (UOMZ) is planning to start serial production of the GSA 5 satellite receiver in the first quarter of 2010. An agreement to that effect has been reached with the Canadian NOVATEL at the international exhibition Intergeo-2009 in Germany. The company informed RusBusinessNews that the fundamental element of the GSA 5 is the technology of arbitrary channel splitting between the global positioning systems (GPS, GLONASS). This enables the receiver to select the spacecraft automatically and to tune into the best option of the satellite constellation. At the exhibition the Urals Optical and Mechanical Plant has also signed a contract with Geofinel, a German company, to supply its geodesic instruments to the European market. The contract's estimated value is 200 thousand Euro. Geodesic products assembled at the UOMZ's subsidiary company in China were exhibited at Intergeo-2009. The facility operates in Meizhou since April 2009. |
