Henkel Pemos Increased Production Capacity by 10 Thousand Tons

Henkel Pemos JSC has commissioned a new production line for liquid detergents. Its production capacity for Persil and Laska brands is over 10 thousand tons a year.

Henkel Pemos has an annual production capacity of 160 thousand tons. Its laundry and home care products - Losk, Deni, Pemos, Vernel, Pemolux, and Pril - sell all over Russia. Peter Guenter, President of Henkel Russia, has stated that the production of detergents and cleansers is one of the priority areas for the development of the company in the domestic market.

Henkel has purchased the Pemos plant in 2001. In the last three years the company has invested over 20 million euro in the development of the plant. A representative of Henkel Pemos has informed RusBusinessNews that the new line is estimated at 2.5 million euro.

The financials of Pemos after the first six months of 2009 have proven successful. As compared to January-June last year, the revenue has grown by 69.4 per cent and reached 2 billion roubles, whilst the net profit has increased by 59.2 per cent and amounted to 264.6 million roubles.

Henkel's production facilities in Russia are located in Engels, Kolomna, Perm, and Tosno. In January-June 2009 the sales volume of their products has increased by 3.1 per cent and reached 3 billion 258 million euro. The operating profit with an allowance for adjustments has decreased by 26.1 per cent and amounted 235 million euro.

AC Nielsen has reported that in 2008, Henkel products accounted for up to 26 per cent of the Russian household chemistry market in monetary terms.
