Urals Increased Share In Russian Retail To 17.5%19.10.2009 — News The Tyumen Oblast took the lead amongst the subjects of the Urals Federal District in 2008 in terms of the retail turnover. The total combined turnover of the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, and Kurgan oblasts amounted to 1.5 trillion roubles in the previous year. According to the data from Ernst & Young the Tyumen Oblast's (including Ugra and Yamal) share amounted to more than 31% - 553.3 billion roubles. The Sverdlovsk Oblast had retailed 527.2 billion, Chelyabinsk Oblast - 347.4 billion, Kurgan Oblast - 72.7 billion roubles. Oksana Yashina, a representative of Ernst & Young, informed RusBusinessNews that the dynamics of retail growth in subjects of the Urals region is roughly the same. Turnover of all markets, except for the Perm, have grown 8 times and more in the period 2000-2008. In the eight year period the share of the Urals in the Russian nationwide retail has grown from 12.4% to 17.5%. |
