Uralkali Will Pay 5.4 Billion Roubles To Federal Budget26.10.2009 — News THE PERM KRAI. The Chairman of Government of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed a decree according to which the RF Ministry of Finance has to enter into a contract with JSC Uralkali and JSC Silvinit on transferring 6 billion 454 million roubles into the federal budget. RusBusinessNews was informed that 5 billion 454 million out of this sum will be paid by Uralkali and 1 billion - by Silvinit. In December 2008 Uralkali offered the state that the company, voluntarily and within the framework of social responsibility, would cover the costs incurred by budgets of all levels in connection to the liquidation of consequences of the July 2007 disaster at Mine No. 1 of the company and the costs of the construction of the two bypass rail lines incurred by JSC Russian Railways. These costs were preliminarily estimated at around 3 billion roubles. In March 2009 a meeting chaired by the Minister of Finance Andrey Kudrin was held on financing the costs in connection with the disaster at Mine No. 1. At that meeting the Uralkali management had again confirmed being ready to cover expenses of budgets of all levels. According to more refined calculations the total cost amounted to about 2.8 billion roubles, 454 million out of which is the cost of the construction of the six kilometre bypass rail line built by JSC Russian Railways. Moreover, Uralkali has expressed the will to finance the deficit of the construction of the 53 kilometre bypass rail line to the amount of 5 billion roubles (Silvinit has agreed to allocate 1 billion roubles for these purposes). Dmitry Rybolovlev, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC Uralkali, made a statement that in the spring the company has already paid 2.3 billion roubles as a compensation of spending from budgets of all levels in connection with the disaster. "At that time we offered to finance the deficit of the construction of the railway link between Yayva and Solikamsk which is extremely important for the development of the whole Berezniki-Solikamsk industrial area. The company is ready to sign an agreement with the Ministry of Finance in the shortest possible timeframe and to make the remaining payments in the prescribed manner", he stated. |
