OHL ZS - Halna-Duna Syndicate Will Construct 1300 Kilometre Long Road in Yamal

The Czech-Hungarian syndicate OHL ZS - Halna-Duna in the spring 2010 is going to start the construction of the railway within "The Industrial Urals - the Polar Urals" project. The cost of the Yamal 1300 kilometre long Salekhard-Nadym line is estimated at 243 billion roubles.

Dmitriy Dubovik, a Board member of OHL ZS - Halna-Duna, Russia and CIS director, the projects have received all necessary approvals and if the state funded project gets signed within the planned time the construction of the first piece worth 60 billion roubles will start this spring. It is planned to be finished in five years. The construction of the second piece worth 183 billion roubles will begin in 2011 and will take 10 years to complete.

As well as the construction of the railway line OHL ZS - Halna-Duna will engage in the development of infrastructure in the region. According to Mr Dubovik it can not be ruled out that new schools and hospitals will built in the region with the participation of the syndicate. Moreover, a railway sleeper plant will be constructed with the use of the cutting edge European technologies having no rivals in Russia. It is planned that local population will be engaged in the construction of all facilities and the OHL ZS - Halna-Duna syndicate specialists will just be in control of the engineering.

The integrated provisioning of construction works in the railway, road, and engineering structure sectors is the key sphere of activity for OHL ZS - Halna-Duna. At the moment the Czech-Hungarian syndicate is amongst the largest five companies in the world in this sphere. 41.6% of the company's resources is focused on railway construction projects.
