Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant Preparing Personnel Reserve

Starting in February 2010 JSC Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant continued the implementation of the Personnel Reserve programme. The enterprise employees wishing to become middle and top managers in the company are taking part in the programme.

The enterprise informed RusBusinessNews that this year the reservists will be learning the basics of management, marketing, business communications psychology. They will also get an introduction to the production process management and organization technologies. The lessons are done in the format of training, excursions, business games etc. Some employees will be appointed to managerial positions in areas and subdivisions of the plant while still doing the course.

The Personnel Reserve programme has been developed by JSC Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant in 2005. Its implementation cost is assessed at more than 600 thousand roubles per year. Pavel Ryzhyi, the plant's Director for Personnel and Administrative Issues said that the development of JSC Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant requres the modernisation of production facilities and implementation of new technologies as well as the improvement of managerial qualities of staff.

JSC Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant's share is more than 60% of Russian, about 2% of the world-wide zinc production. Since September 2009 the enterprise is controlled by the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company.
