Company detailsAzot, a subsidiary of the Unified Chemical Company URALCHEM, OJSC, in BereznikiAzot is the founder of the domestic nitrogen industry in the Western Urals. The plant is one of the largest domestic producers of ammonia and nitrogen fertilizers (ammonium nitrate, carbamide, and special types of nitrates for the mining industry). It is the only producer of higher aliphatic amines, potassium and sodium nitrates, and sodium nitrite crystal in Russia. The company has been producing porous, modified ammonium nitrate since 2005, which is in great demand in Russia and abroad. In 2009, Azot began providing ammonium nitrate solutions to the manufacturers of emulsion explosives. Azot's parent company, UCC URALCHEM, OJSC, is one of the largest companies in the market for nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers in Russia and the CIS. The company has an annual production capacity of over 2.5 million tons of ammonium nitrate, 2.2 million tons of ammonia, 0.8 million tons of monoammonium and diammonium phosphates, 0.8 million tons of compound fertilizers, and 0.5 million tons of carbamide. URALCHEM is the second largest producer of ammonium nitrate in the world, and the number one producer in Russia. URALCHEM, OJSC includes the Azot subsidiary (Perm territory), the Mineral Fertilizer Plant at the Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Works, OJSC (Kirov Region), and Voskresenskye Mineral Fertilizers, OJSC (Moscow Region). |
