The governor is the highest-ranking official in the Perm territory. Since May 5, 2012, this position has been held by Viktor Basargin.

Born on August 3, 1957. Education: Graduated in 1976 from the Asbest Mining Technical College. Graduated in 1984 from the Vakhrushev Sverdlovsk Mining Institute and in 1991 from the Ural Socio-Political Institute (formerly the Sverdlovsk Higher Party School). 1992-1994 - Deputy chairman of the Property Fund of the Sverdlovsk region. 1994-1996 - First deputy chairman of the Sverdlovsk Regional Committee for the Management of State Property. 1996-2000 - Chairman of the Property Fund of the Sverdlovsk region. 2000 to present - Head of the office of the authorized presidential envoy in the Urals Federal District. 2001-2008 - Deputy authorized presidential envoy in the Urals Federal District. 2008 - Minister of regional development for the Russian Federation. Since 2012 he has been the governor of the Perm territory.

The government of the Perm territory is the highest executive body in the Perm territory. Mikhail Antonov is the chairman of the government of the Perm territory.
