Banks

The Chelyabinsk Oblast banking network includes:

• 11 regional banks with 55 branches;
• 53 branches and 26 representative offices of banks from other regions;
• 24 branches of Russia’s biggest bank – Sberbank.

Transportation

There are two international airports in the Oblast – in Chelyabinsk and Magnitogorsk.
From Chelyabinsk and Magnitogorsk airports, Russian carriers operate regular flights to Germany and charter flights to many European and Asian countries.

The length of the South Urals railroad (a branch of the Russian Railways OAO) is 8,000+ kilometres.  It provides services within 7 constituent entities of the RF and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The total length of the Chelyabinsk Oblast motorways exceeds 11 thousand kilometres; out of these, 50% are hard-surface roads.  Motor transportation routes cross the border of Russia and its neighbour Kazakhstan via international motor transport checkpoints Mariinski, Varna, and Bugristoye.

Communications

The Oblast is among the top ten RF constituent entities in terms of implementing new technologies and Internet services volume.
All cities and district centres of the Oblast have been provided with automated long-distance services. The technical capabilities available make it possible to provide users with virtually any modern communication services.
The Chelyabinsk Oblast cellular communication operators in GSM and CDMA standards cover all population centres of the region.

Construction

The Chelyabinsk Oblast is ahead of all neighbour regions in terms of construction volumes, primarily housing construction. In 2008, 1.8 million square metres of housing were commissioned.
In addition to that, 63 kilometres of new roadways, 8 bridges and viaducts were commissioned during the year. 300 kilometres of inner city roads were built and repaired. The construction of the Chelyabinsk beltway, nearly 150 kilometres, was completed.
A total of 26 billion Rubles was allocated in 2008 for social and road construction, and the infrastructure development. In addition to housing and roads, more than 850 socially significant facilities – hospitals, schools, and kindergartens – are being built in the Chelyabinsk Oblast.

Hotels

There are more than 35 hotels in Chelyabinsk. You can choose from a wide range of service classes – luxury to economy. Certain hotels are located outside the city limits, in the quiet of the woods and the open air; others, in the civic centre of Chelyabinsk. The Holiday Inn Chelyabinsk Riverside is a member of a famous international hotel chain.
